The essentials
Before you start
PairSend moves files and text between two browsers while both devices are online. You don’t need an account or an app installation.
Keep both devices with you.
This is a live transfer. It doesn’t create a download link for someone to open later. Keep both browser tabs open until the handoff is complete.
Start → Join → Send
Your first transfer
Start on the device with the file.
Open PairSend and start a session. A pairing code and QR appear once the session is ready. Share the code only with the person or device you want to connect.
Join from the second device.
Open PairSend on the other device and enter the code, or scan the QR shown in the session. Wait for both devices to show that they are connected.
Send, then save what you need.
Add a file or send a text message. Keep both browsers open while the transfer finishes, then download received files before ending the session.
For the next handoff
Sessions and saved devices
Sessions have a fixed expiry. A short reconnect window can help you return on the same device, but it does not extend the session. Once it expires, start a new one.
On a paid plan, you can save a trusted device after a successful connection. The next handoff starts a fresh session with an approval prompt, so you can skip the code or QR.
Keep PairSend open on both saved devices to receive the request. Saved devices belong to the browser where you added them; clearing its data removes those saved connections.
Private by design
What happens to your files
Files and text are encrypted in the browser before they are sent. PairSend’s servers coordinate the connection without storing your file contents.
Session expiry ends access through that session. It does not delete the original file or a copy someone has already downloaded.
Every plan uses the same end-to-end encryption. Paid plans add saved devices and higher daily limits.
When a connection needs a hand
If your transfer stalls
- Check that both devices are online and their PairSend tabs are still open.
- Keep mobile browsers in the foreground while sending.
- If the code has expired, start a new session and use its new code.
- If the connection still fails, try another network. Some workplace and public networks block direct browser connections.
